That First Review of Your Movie

If you’ve ever put something creative into the world, you know what it feels like to wait for a verdict.

There’s dread. Nasuea. Lots of pacing…

That was us waiting to get our first review of our movie.

To make matters worse…

Our film Dying to do Letterman, which just premiered at Cinequest, was accepted off of a very early rough cut…which then went to press.

Knowing that the film getting reviewed was about two months WORSE than the film we would be playing gave us all a lot to fret about.

Fortunately…

When this first big review came from FilmSchoolRejects.com, written by the very funny Rob Hunter, he seemed more interested in our story than our rough edges (and luckily the review was just the first of many that have appeared since.)

We were so excited…

The google alert came in while we were at the Cinequest opening night party. We handed the email via phone to Steve Mazan, comedian and subject of Dying to do Letterman, and taped some of his reaction.

No doubt the review was a helpful contributing factor in our three sold out shows, all of which received standing ovations.
